When Lou first invited me to be her guest on Littlegreenshed, I wasn't at all sure what I could possibly contribute that would be worthy of appearing on her beautiful blog. And then I had a brainwave... why not use Lou's own gorgeous art work to inspire a simple little crafty gift for her?
I began by printing off the little zig-leaf detail that Lou is currently using as her blog header, traced it with a transfer pen and ironed it onto a scrap of linen.

I then secured it in a hoop and set about embroidering Lou's design with some free-style stitching, using regular embroidery floss.

Once I'd finished, I trimmed off the excess fabric round the outside and covered the back of the hoop with some yellow felt, ready for Lou to display wherever she chooses in her super-stylish Bristol home.

Lou- I hope you and your family are having lots of fun in the New Forest and the sun has his hat on. I will pop the hoop in the post, ready for your return- I only hope you think I've done your unique art justice!

Thank you Charley!
I absolute love it! Can't wait to see it in real life... it looks just like my drawing!
Blimey she is such a creative whizz... if you haven't discovered Charley's talents, please pop over and see her fancy dress creations, her beautiful blog and gorgeous family.
You might remember my Charlie wearing Where's Wally? That was her handiwork.
