I have a small confession.
I have lost my gardening mojo.
I haven't visited my allotment since March!
All I have planted in the ground are potatoes, garlic and onions and it's dubious whether these will amount to anything as I haven't been up to water or weed them.
I've just been busy doing other things... life seems to just get in my way!
I feel guilty ... and the guilt is eating me up!
Last night I went along to the monthly WI meeting.
This months talk was given by the very lovely and oh so green fingered Lia Leendertz who writes the gardening section of the guardian newspaper and her own blog Midnight Brambling.
Lia's talk last night was wonderful, she spoke of gardening in pots, what vegetables thrive, when it's best to sow coriander, what to use to feed your plants and how to deal with slugs (snip them with scissors apparently!).
I felt inspired!
We were then let loose on compost and planted up a little plug plant of Chervil in a tin can.
So... sitting here now, I have little darling herb plants waiting to be planted..
A tomato and a butternut squash waving at me.
And a couple of alpine strawberry plants slowly crisping in the sunshine...
Time to get on and ENJOY gardening again.
I WILL go up to the allotment... but not today.
I need Dan to come and hold my hand as I may faint at the jungle that awaits...
Today I will get on with jobs in the garden and I may make another macramé plant holder or two!
