Dan is home this week. Days are purposely slow. Lie in's, lengthy breakfasts and bike rides a plenty. It's good to have him here. Enjoying these last few weeks with the boys before they both start school again in September.

These past two days we have continued with some home improvements. Decorating the dining room after the floor sanding of last month. The green colour has been painted out fresh white and it really brings a lovely light to the room.  Whilst the opposite wall I have chosen a deep moody blue grey colour.. the colour of leaden skies.  I am quite loving the contrast.. and it makes the wood in our home really sing.

I am looking forward to having my kitchen back to normal. I am desperate to cook at the moment. I'd really like to try out this recipe.. it looks delicious.  Maybe I should wait a month, wait until Plums are in season and it will taste all the better.

Tomorrow my oldest boy is trying his hand at rock climbing. An obsession, from where it comes from I do not know.  It is something he has repeatedly expressed a want to do.  So tomorrow we are obliging. I am in two minds about it. As much as I love that Charlie is taking interests in sports and new exciting challenges, but the mother part of me wishes this taster session will be all he wants to do... I don't think I could cope thinking of years to come of him clinging to a mountain by his fingernails!

Ahh August.. how is it for you?

(I am not mentioning the O word here... have you noticed! - but that too is taking over the house, we are O fevered!)
