Nook & Cranny are one of my stockists, and you can see some of my cards & postcards in the film... did you see them?
Yay, well done Leigh and gang, the shop is looking wonderful.

A little....

Posted on 02:20 by Unknown

Thank you!
I have reached the 500 followers mark! Whoop!
How wonderful!  I am totally over the moon.  Thank you for taking the time to read about my life, my son's adventures, my latest interiors or design obsessions, our walks through woods, my art work, and my love affair with plants!

Having you all here, reading my words makes me a very happy lady indeed!!  I still cannot believe there are 500 of you wonderful supportive people!  As for comments and community support... you make my heart swell.  Life is so much richer since I have been blogging and I have you lovely people to thank for that.

It was a big day yesterday.  500 land mark and also the opening of my very own BigCartel shop.  You can see the yellow button at the top over on the right.  If you give it a little click it will take you to my store.  What do you think?   I feel really grown up! ;-)

To celebrate these two occasions.. I will give the first 5 orders in my new shop a little lucky dip gift - who knows what it will be!!  It's a surprise.

Also there is 15% off in my Shop until Monday 3rd September - code THANKS15.

Thank you again... lovely people.

Here's to more Littlegreenshed!

nature in the home - a series

Posted on 01:00 by Unknown

This weeks nature in the home series features a collection of little cacti.  Sweet isn't it?
Perfect little display on a mantel.
I love how the print on the wall compliments the foliage and the low slung lampshade is just perfect.
I think I'd like to start a small cacti collection... needs little watering.  Perfect!

Etsy Shop Love - Meghann Rader

Timber Brooch in Grey and Graphite - Hand Drawn Forest Jewelry

Sketched Bear Pencil Drawing - 6x8 original artwork on wood panel

Canopy Necklace in Grey and Graphite - Hand Drawn Tree Pendant with Brass Chain

I think it must be the changing of the Season, but recently I am being more and more drawn to images of nature. I discovered Meghann's work on Etsy a few months ago, but have been saving it to show you all much closer to the end of Summer.  I think her drawings have an almost Wintery appeal, don't you?.  Hop over and have a look.  I love the top brooch... it would look wonderful pinned to a grey wool winter coat.

Have a great week... (our last week of school holidays, boo!)

what do boys need?

Posted on 14:03 by Unknown

If we are talking about mine..... they need to be allowed to run, jump, dig, climb, taste, smell and explore - daily... adventuring of the biggest kind.
This means once a day we need to take trip out of our city and into nature.  Luckily for us, where we live in Bristol, we can walk out of our home and within 15 minutes we are amongst the trees.
Having a bag full of snacks, water and great company always makes the day so much better.
Other than that... just add, blackberries, puddles, the perfect stick and stacks of imagination.
The grandest of adventure can be had by all.
And me? I get the happiest of boys.

nature in the home - a series

Posted on 01:49 by Unknown
Source: oldbrandnewblog.com via littlegreenshed on Pinterest

I have always loved this room.
I saw it on old brand new blog last year and came across it again recently on Pinterest.
It's the mix of gorgeous furniture and that plant!
The plant is called 'mother in law's tongue' - great name eh?
The striking leaves and that pot really makes the room, don't you think?  Imagine the room without it, it just wouldn't have the same impact.
I would love to have this plant and pot in my home.

Large Vintage Coral Specimen Piece

Vintage Enamelware and Graniteware Collection

Vintage Sign / Decal
Vintage Lucite Mid Century Industrial Sign Letter - e

Hello!
Thank you for all your kind comments on my new series of postcards... I am chuffed to bits! For those who have ordered them - they are on their way.  I have had to re-order another lot from the printers, YAY!  Tell me, I was asked if these postcards could work as prints, I suppose they would... what do you think?

Anyway.. what do you think of the above items?  They are all from an Etsy shop called Ethanollie.  The shop is based in super cool Portland, Oregon. I am loving the vintage look of everything and personally  I am on the look out for some enamel kitchen wear for my own kitchen.  It is just classic and works with any style of home.  Timeless.

Although I don't agree with Coral being taken from the Oceans, I can't help but love this specimen.  It is rather special isn't it?  And that sign, just reading it makes the rebel in me want to roll around on the grass! Does it you?

life lately & new things...

Posted on 02:38 by Unknown

Just lately life has been a whirlwind of craft, days out and lounging under trees (well maybe the last bit wasn't such a whirlwind - more like some much needed mummy time out!).  These summer holidays have been long and quite frankly brilliant - (apart from the odd bickering and moaning day) I have loved it so much!.

▲▲▲▲▲▲▲▲▲

In the evenings I have also been working on my other life!  I've recently made some more postcards.  Every body loves a postcard right?  A little piece of prettiness.

This one is Blossom Geo.  There are 4 cards to choose from, or have them all!  All available in my shop.

I have some quite beautifully amazing and exciting news coming up in the next month.... so big fingers crossed I can pull it off!  I do hope so.  Lots of nights working on new products... watch this space!

weekending....

Posted on 13:05 by Unknown

What a weekend! Every single second of it was filled.
On Saturday we headed to Bristol's centre to bounce on Sacrilege, during it's tour of the UK. It was the hottest day of the year so far and we were wearing all the wrong clothes for some silly reason.  Fifteen minutes of intense bouncing, laughing and all round silliness, I left the henge feeling sticky and in need of better core muscles.  I think I need to go back to Pilates!
Wandering down through the city centre we then went onto See No Evil. After last years event we couldn't wait to dance to Drum & Bass in the street, drink a can of Red Stripe and celebrate what Bristol does best - throw a Street Party. The artwork was incredible once again, the street was packed full of party goers... a festival in the heart of Urban Bristol.
Saturday evening we witnessed a sweet couple dance their first dance, toast their future and became oh so emotional at the sight of love. Friends were wed yesterday in a humanist wedding... the party was full of soul, love and good people.
Today we spent the day with my family. My brother celebrated his 40th birthday. 40. That makes me feel completely old as he is my younger brother (by 1 year!).  We talked about the past, life when we were children. Ate delicious food and cuddled a cute puppy - Archie. The cousins ran and played - much as we did at their age.
The heat intensified this late afternoon, so we headed to our favourite park where there is a large paddling pool for children. My boys striped off and splashed til the water cooled their tempers and relaxed their minds. Whilst Dan and I laid under the shade of a nearby tree and remembered that life is good.

this week...

Posted on 04:00 by Unknown

Hello!
Gosh it's the weekend again... blimey this week went by fast.
Here are some images of our week.  Or more accurately Monday & Tuesday because the weather the rest of the week as been pretty rubbish.  There's been alot of lego, drawing and watching movies.
I've also been getting lots of headaches.  Stressed I think. The noise in the house sometimes is all too much for me at times.  And being cooped up isn't helping me.
But today the sun is shining and the city is beckoning.  Off to see the new See No Evil on Nelson St - you might remember last years event.  And also Sacrilege is in town too.. BOING! It's going to be fun.

Have a great weekend.

A few things...

Here Comes the Sun

Hello!
How are you all?  Fine and dandy I do very much hope.
Just a little quick post, to tell you I have a little giveaway going on over at Amanda's blog - Here Comes the Sun.
Amanda is offering her readers a chance to win an A3 Spring Flowers print and a set of 4 Circle Series postcards.
If you haven't discovered Amanda's blog yet, you should hop over and sit yourself down for a good read.. fashion, photography and life in New Zealand.  It's just peachy!

▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼

Also in other news... I am guest posting over at Jen's blog Little Birdie, whilst she is off to the Greenman Festival (lucky girl!).  So please hop over and check out my post on the good life, vegetables and Italian salads!

▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼

And finally, I've changed my header again!  I hope you like it.  I can't seem to find something that fits with me or with this blog.  Plus, like my home, I feel that my blog is an expression of how I feel. So maybe it will always change to fit how I feel at the time.  This might make it on a postcard soon, what do you think?

So that's it... happy reading to you!
Have a great day.

nature in the home - a series

Pretty.
I love these blue cornflowers casually placed into a simple glass vase on the window.
The knitting just left there, waiting to be held again.
This is the home of Mamzelle Titoo - Laetitia has such a beautiful home in northern France, it was difficult for me to choose just one image for this post. You should hop over to her blog.. you will find gorgeous images of her home and life in France.
Laetitia also happens to be a talented ceramic artist.  We recently did a little swap, she took my Zig Leaf Print in Peach and I was lucky enough to have these. I think I got the better deal, don't you!

Hello!
Tuesday Etsy Round Up is coming to you a little earlier this week - I couldn't wait to show you this great shop I've discovered.
Nell and Mary is based in Portland, Oregon. Making gorgeous screen printed items.  Cushion covers, tea towels and place mats.  Each item uses salvaged scraps of fabric and water based inks.
I particularly love the umbrella print placemats and the cats cradle cushion cover... yum!
What do you think?
