Happy Summer Solstice / Winter Solstice to those southern hem people.
Gosh it really is half way through the year... the nights are getting longer and everything really grows in the garden from this point onwards.
Time to sow herbs like coriander and chervil.
Oriental Salads too.
I am going to the plot this saturday and I will rescue my garlic from the weeds.
Solstice always takes me back to nights spent at Stonehenge with Dan. Before the boys. Dancing to the drums, watching the druids perform their ancient rites at the stones. And cheering when the sun rises over the hill on the horizon.
Gosh it seems a million years ago.
Last night Dan and I celebrated a little differently.
He tinkered with his bike whilst I cooked a Moroccan lentil stew. The back doors flung open, listening to the blackbird sing his song. A large G&T in hand.
OOOO the excitement!
Since having children our priorities have changed.. I prefer the comfort of a sofa rather than a cold ancient stone to sit on! And to be honest the rain last night was awful - good luck to the party goers out there on the Wiltshire Downs.
TO MARK SUMMER SOLSTICE I AM HAVING A ONE DAY SALE IN MY SHOP - 20% OFF EVERYTHING.
OFFER ENDS 22ND JUNE AT 10AM GMT
GO!
Did you celebrate?
I wish we had had a bonfire!
